The annual business meeting of PALMCOP was called to order by Director Harlan

PALMCOP attracted almost 50 attendees and that the group made money. Thanks were
also offered to Gloria Kelley and Bessie Meeks for their hard work in setting up
the online newsletter at began in September. Harlan pointed out that PALMCOP had
begun a scholarship program to send a member to any archival workshop in the
Southeast if the attendee would teach the same workshop (or a close facsimile)
to the membership. He concluded by pointing out that another book repair
workshop would be held in the coming year, as well as one on disaster
preparedness and he urged members to join committees and to give the board their
guidance. The report was approved without debate.

membership category for individuals instead of institutions. After some
discussion, the membership level was set at ten dollars ($10.00) and the members
voted to approve the change.
New business consisted of a discussion of the possibility of having a joint
meeting with SCAA for the next annual meeting. The Board was authorized to
pursue that course. Next was the announcement of a survey of the membership to
assist the board in planning for the next couple of years. Attendees were urged
to return the forms before the end of the afternoon session. There being no
further new business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 11:45AM.
Respectfully submitted,
